If we anticipate new laws governing buyer protection and data protection?

It’s a well-worn saying that the rules often lags behind technology. It makes sense. The old track about the steps involved in making a bill into law and how much it can take resonates with everyone. By the time the phrase” a president signing everything into law” is said, technology has either evolved into something even more cutting edge or been replaced by a more up-to-date, brighter toys.

Some states have previously taken the lead in trying to protect consumer statistics when it comes to data security and protection. However, in these politically volatile times, anticipating or hoping that the federal government will follow suit seems about as good as observing pigs fly. What was once merely a lag has the ability to become a gulf when new innovative forms of technology are introduced, such as conceptual artificial intelligence.

Benjamin Mishkin, a part of CozenO’Connor’s technology privacy and data security exercise group, talks with Victor Li from the ABA Journal about what the regulation landscape looks like regarding data protection and privacy and what we can and can’t expect in the near future in this episode of the Legal Rebels Podcast.
