WARSAW, Poland ( AP )— Google and Poland on Thursday signed a memorandum for developing the use of artificial intelligence in the country’s energy, security and other businesses.
Poland has generally decreased its dependence on Russian hydrocarbons, and it is now the target of a variety of cyberattacks and sabotage operations that are thought to be sponsored by Russia.
Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google and Alphabet, and Donald Tusk, the prime minister of Poland, discussed expanding Google’s 2014 activities in Poland. Pichai said that Poland is Google’s biggest executive hub with more than 2, 000 people.
Google will also dedicate$ 5 million over the next five years to develop training programs and boost online skills among young Poles, in addition to getting Artificial involved in the corporate sectors in Poland. It is to reach about 1 million fresh Poles, Pichai said.
Tusk said the strategies will increase Poland’s stability and may contribute to the country’s economic development. He stated earlier this week that Google and Microsoft will be among the global companies investing in Poland in 2025 worth roughly 160 billion zlotys ($ 160 billion ).
Tusk even urged Google to support Poland’s deregulation work, which aim to reduce bureaucracy and rules and give businesses more room for growth.
